                                              9th Annual Octoberfish Festival

     We would like to invite your organization to join us at the Octoberfish Festival on Saturday, October 5th, 2013. This event provides an opportunithttp://coosbay.surfrider.org/octoberfish-2013p/ y to create community awareness of the Coos estuary system through positive educational and recreational experiences.

     We are looking for non-profit, educational, or governmental organizations to participate in an informational fair from 12:00pm until 6:00pm at the Octoberfish festival on Saturday, October 5.

This year  we would especially like to emphasize all aspects of fish + fishing. For example, live fish in tanks, a fishing pond for kids, demonstrations of fish cleaning and filet, a fishing licenses and regulation area, water quality, water sports, clean oceans, marine or nature-themed arts + crafts, fish or fishing, etc...

There is no fee for informational organizations. Organizations must supply their own necessary equipment including, but not limited to such items as;

       tables, chairs, tents, etc. and must complete and return the enclosed registration form. There are both outdoor and indoor spaces available on a first-come, first serve basis.

Octoberfish is an annual Charleston-based family festival that celebrates our coastal community, featuring locally produced food, art, music, and sustainable practices. This year, Octoberfish will be celebrated in partnership with the new Coos Bay Chapter of the Surfrider Foundation and will feature special activities with the South Slough National Estuarine Research Reserve.

The day will be filled with events for the whole family, including dinner from the Tuna Guys!

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Charleston Food Bank. Octoberfish is organized by a variety of community partners, including, the Surfrider Foundation, South Slough Reserve, Sol Coast, ORCOArts, the Tuna Guys, and many more!

Admission is $1/person and Tuna Guys will be offering a special $25 dinner deal for families, $10/person for individuals all afternoon! For more information on the event contact Carmen Matthews or Deborah Rudd.
