We need to vote for change, so lets talk + organize for Climate People`s March on Sept 21, as well for us to share being calm in the moment + celebrate that we are fortunate to have such tools to share the process of living local..

To start where, well please let us trigger some thought;

Take a look of this review + lets decide how logistically we can vote for policies to be enacted as in transparency vs. people, as we end the roles of parties in UN/US + all Governments for starters, if anyone exceeds the natural rule of law, that we can show now via sound science in each community as we organize working w/our students.

As we invite all into our local communities + support students to help lay the work on the table + prioritize how living local can resolve local issues, globally, if we network sound science.

For those communities unaware or unable to live local, then globally we prioritize + come together sharing in an exchange, do a debate, what ever peacefully within our human potential, so locals then self sustain as together we all focus direct sharing what works via like ecosystem/season + subject + network.

Working only w/localized systems w/low impact development working within natures` *enhanced limits as the natural rule of law, globally.

So we all then define how best to continue to resolve our local + global issues. + Make changes ending the war mode + false green economies. As students do their local walkabout supporting community in a tapering transition as those that exceed these natural limits are welcomed to see sound science facts, making wrongs right. putting a hold on any new development until all present acts that exceed the local limits stop, globally.

Barack Obama we ask you as a local, global + beyond participant, to please not let this disassociated energy that is pulling yours/others puppet strings to continue war in Iraq or Syria or anywhere.

Barack you have stated ISIS is a cancer, so now as a brother lets help all heal, those that want to fight them + them who you feel need to be fought, + lets bring sound science into this equation as a common denominator of what truly sustains all life on earth. As we use the natural rule of law as the only rule of law. Focusing on what sustains humanity, as we require our genetic biodiversity to link globally, building bio cultural values that give us life.

Please realize how the displaced energy in all is very inefficient as it is stealing people`s ability to stay humanely present in the moment. When yet all can be supported w/empathy to rid one`s baggage + edit so as for all to maintain discipline over one`s self sensory observation vs. belief that produces any aggressive act beyond a healthy ego.

Sound science is built on traditional engineers from those that locally have sustained as indigenous working our entire biome(s) sensitively w/respect for all life, as common sense, so we give respect for mother earth + live w/in her *enhanced natural potential. As Miguel speaks of what we need best, that we at i come to talk story are working at.

 To make this process of living local, more friendly for all, globally to share our earth + beyond in peace;

A new interdisciplinary framework to integrate the biophysical sciences, ecology and other social sciences is indispensable.

   by do_in agro_ecology `Altieri_

`which can strengthen original ecological processes instead of overriding them.

Institutional structures supporting research + development can relink the social system to the ecological system to allow for local co_evolution..

For anyone to destroy our earth, going beyond sound science, in any decision of development, is a decision made by an ill state of governing vs. restoring it`s *enhanced potential which we the people, will settle for nothing less.

We ask you to work with our students, globally + let them walk by one`s side as transparency lays out the work of present legislators, so we the people have the right to take part in the decision making process  locally + beyond. + You legislators help sort this out w/all, so no more are people voted in to do for another able person, rather locally people share awareness + self sustain.

We welcome all to support each to become a mindful local, global + beyond participant, + ask each of you to efficintly organize for our Climate People`s March on Sept 21 to help people become aware that their is a lot of falseness in the profiting of Climate Change. + No large grid system should be done for any community, rather locals need to be taking part in one`s local `plan making low impact development as they network + develop naturally within respect of the natural world as the only rule of law.

Please do not let any divestment, as w/350.orgs or Bill McGibbens or UN affiliates + others, to replace any fossil fuel, talk you into  large alternative grid systems on this earth or beyond, it is just another ploy for hedgefunds to continue unethical legal marketing scams, that need to be changed, so no one invests in anything unless it is sound science. + The present or any proposed development w/fossil fuels, coal, natural gas, TTP or any Free Trade that is not free, must comply to sound science as the ruling law of the planet + beyond.

If it does not then it cannot be used + those existing we suggest to work w/locals creating a local tapering transition to recycle what can to make it work w/in respect of the natural *enhanced limits. + Again we repeat we suggest no new development locally or afar, until the toxic ill acts/developments globally are resolved so we the people can restore healthy balanced environments as our best medicine + prioritize support locally + afar for those left behind, while others are exploiting the local resources wrongly w/the war mode or false green economies.

Shame on anyone that has supported or purchased oil from west Africa yet leave the locals without. + Shame on any Governing body glkobally that has allowed such atrocites to exist + continue. You are lucky we are peaceful people + will not succumb to such explotaited ill states of exisitence, to gain yet be unaware of others next to you suffering + dieing prematurely.

        Please take a look of the report from the Organic Consumers Organization below + do what you can do to share the process of living local;

     ESSAY OF THE WEEK

Just. Plain. Wrong.

In her June 25 keynote address to the BIO International Convention in San Diego, Calif., Hillary Clinton voiced strong support for genetic engineering and genetically engineered crops. She earned a standing ovation that day by stating [ http://www.organicconsumers.org/articles/article_30428.cfm ] that the biotech industry suffers from a public perception problem and that it just needs "a better vocabulary" in order to persuade GMO skeptics who don't understand "the facts" about genetic engineering.

And then Hillary proceeded to get the facts wrong.

Why does it matter what Hillary, who holds no public office and has not (yet) declared her candidacy for president, says or believes about genetic engineering and genetically modified crops and foods?

It doesn't. Unless she throws her hat in the ring for the Democratic nomination. And then it matters not just what her position on GMOs is, not just how deep her financial ties with the biotech industry run, not just how much she distorts the facts about the "promise" of biotech crops.

It matters, deeply, to more than 90 percent [ http://www.organicconsumers.org/articles/article_28007.cfm ] of Americans, what her position is on GMO labeling laws.

If elected, will Hillary support consumers' right to know? Or will she support the DARK Act, a bill [ http://www.organicconsumers.org/articles/article_29716.cfm ] introduced in Congress earlier this year, that would preempt state GMO labeling laws?

Hillary has been coy about announcing her candidacy. On clarifying her position on GMO labeling laws, she's been dead silent.

As she soon heads [ http://www.tricities.com/news/opinion_columns/article_a8819998-2be2-11e4-92b3-001a4bcf6878.html ] to Iowa-the testing ground for presidential candidates-Hillary's presidential aspirations will no doubt become more clear. If she runs, as the pundits predict, it will be up to the GMO labeling movement to demand that she take a stand on GMO labeling laws.

Meanwhile, here's why Hillary's speech to the BIO convention was just plain wrong.

ACTION ALERT

Shooting the Messenger
Reuters Reporter Carey Gillam has written about genetic engineering and food for the past 16 years. But Monsanto doesn't always like what Gillam says, no matter how balanced or well researched.

So the Biotech Bullies recently tried to pressure [ http://www.organicconsumers.org/articles/article_30590.cfm ] Reuters into removing Gillam from her beat.

Thankfully, Reuters is standing up to the Biotech Bullies.

As Christina Sarich of InfoWars.com wrote [ http://www.infowars.com/monsanto-wants-14-year-reuters-veteran-reporter-fired-for-talking-about-gmo-dangers/ ]:

What is happening now with journalism, and the scape-goating of Gillam, is no different than what biotech has done in other arenas. Their decades-long history of contaminating this planet and its people with dangerous chemicals is well known, in part due to efforts like those of Gillam, and other writers like myself who are willing to stay staunch when shills and puppets try to take the heat off Monsanto, Dow, Bayer, etc.

Gillam, no rookie reporter, has been singled out by her peers for her fair and objective reporting. Civil Eats, an award-winning daily news source focusing on food issues, cited [ http://civileats.com/2014/05/14/24-women-food-and-ag-reporters-you-should-know-about/ ] Gillam in an article, "24 Women Food and Agriculture Reporters You Should Know About."

But the biotech bullies don't want good reporters writing about GMOs. They don't want anybody writing about GMOs-unless those writers are on Monsanto's payroll.

Let's tell Reuters we support the media outlet's decision to stand by Gillam, and to support balanced journalism and the right of free speech.

TAKE ACTION: Tell Reuters: Thank you for supporter writer Carey Gillam and her reporting on GMOs! [ http://salsa3.salsalabs.com/o/50865/p/dia/action3/common/public/?action_KEY=14738 ]

ACTION ALERT

Why Bother?
Last month, we launched a petition [ http://petitions.moveon.org/sign/hillary-clinton-its-time?source=c.url&r_by=5382364 ]
calling out Hillary Clinton on her support for GMOs. So far, nearly 95,000 people have signed the petition.

We'd like to make that number a lot bigger.

Why? Why bother to try to change the mind of someone who has such a long history of financial ties to the biotech industry? Someone who isn't even an elected official or a candidate?

Because when Hillary talks, the media listens. And right now, they're hanging on her every word, as they wait for her to announce that she'll run for president in 2016.

All signs point to a run, including the fact that Hillary is headed [ http://www.tricities.com/news/opinion_columns/article_a8819998-2be2-11e4-92b3-001a4bcf6878.html ] to Iowa.

If (or when?) Hillary runs for president, we need to make GMO labeling laws a big campaign issue. And to do that, we need big numbers.

We already know from her speech [ http://www.organicconsumers.org/articles/article_30428.cfm ] to the Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) convention in San Diego in June that Hillary supports genetic engineering. But she's so far managed to dodge the question of whether or not she supports state GMO labeling laws-or the DARK (Deny Americans the Right to Know) Act [ http://www.organicconsumers.org/articles/article_29716.cfm ], introduced in Congress, that would preempt state GMO labeling laws.

If you haven't signed the petition, please sign today. If you've already signed, please ask five of your friends to sign, too.

TAKE ACTION: Tell Hillary Clinton: It's time to dump Monsanto and support public health and regenerative, organic agriculture! [ http://petitions.moveon.org/sign/hillary-clinton-its-time?source=c.url&r_by=5382364 ]

SUPPORT OCA & OCF

Put Monsanto on Ice!

He did it! Ronnie Cummins, international director of the OCA and its Mexico affiliate, Via Organica [ http://www.viaorganica.org ], took the ice bucket challenge!

Can you like and share the video [ https://www.facebook.com/organicconsumers/photos/a.10150142479999934.291724.13341879933/10152460981734934/?type=1&theater ] on facebook? For every "like" OCA will donate $2 to the Oregon initiative to label GMOs, which will be on the November ballot.

Here are a few fun facts about the Ice Bucket Challenge in general, and OCA's decision to participate.

First, we learned from the social media marketing experts at Social Fresh [ http://socialfresh.com/10-lessons-marketers-can-learn-from-the-als-ice-bucket-challenge/ ], that the Ice Bucket Challenge wasn't originally tied to the ALS Foundation specifically. Turns out, one person who took the challenge named ALS as their cause, and others just went along with it.

So, we thought, why not use the Ice Bucket Challenge to support GMO labeling?

Second, while we're all for curing ALS and other diseases, we're equally, if not more, concerned about preventing those illnesses (rather than supporting Big Pharma). As Sayer Ji [ http://www.greenmedinfo.com/gmi-authors/j ], author, educator and founder of GreenMedInfo.com [ http://www.greenmedinfo.com/ ] points out [ http://www.organicconsumers.org/articles/article_30735.cfm ], there is a potential link between the use of agricultural pesticides (such as Monsanto's Roundup and Dow's 2,4-D) and ALS.

So we thought it only fitting to raise money to help prevent ALS by supporting GMO labeling laws.

And lastly, for those of you concerned about how much water was wasted, Ronnie took the challenge on the rooftop of a Via Organica classroom in Mexico, where a water catchment system made sure the water made its way back into the cistern it was taken from. (He challenges others to be equally responsible about recycling their Ice Bucket Challenge water).

So for those reasons, and all of the reasons we need to "Put the Ice on Monsanto," Ronnie took the challenge. And then he challenged Dave Murphy, co-founder of FoodDemocracyNOW! and David Bronner, or Dr. Bronner's Magic Soaps to Put the Ice on Monsanto next.

Please "like" and "share" Ronnie's Ice Bucket Challenge video today. [ https://www.facebook.com/organicconsumers/photos/a.10150142479999934.291724.13341879933/10152460981734934/?type=1&theater ] OCA will donate $2 per "like," up to $200,000, to the YES on 92 campaign to label GMOs in Oregon.

COOK ORGANIC NOT THE PLANET

March with Vandana Shiva and OCA!
In a show of solidarity for the role organic agriculture can play in reversing climate change, Vandana Shiva [ http://www.navdanya.org/ ] will march with OCA's "Cook Organic, Not the Planet" contingent in the People's Climate March, on September 21, 2014, in New York City.

Can you get to New York to join us?

Organizers of the People's Climate March [ http://peoplesclimate.org/march/ ] predict this could be the biggest action on climate the world's ever seen. That's exciting-but too often, the climate change message focuses exclusively on reducing fossil fuel emissions.

With Vandana's help, OCA will bring our message to the march-that organic, regenerative agriculture has the potential to actually reverse global warming. And unless we acknowledge-and act-on that strategy, we will not turn the sinking global warming ship around in time.

According to a recent study [ http://rodaleinstitute.org/assets/RegenOrgAgricultureAndClimateChange_20140418.pdf ] by the Rodale Institute, regenerative agriculture, if practiced globally, has the potential to sequester 100 percent of current, annual carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions.

Where do consumers fit into the picture? By supporting organics-for our own health and the health of our entire ecosystem.

The OCA's "Cook Organic Not the Planet" will join up with the Food Justice contingent [ http://peoplesclimate.org/foodjustice/ ] for the Sunday, September 21 march in New York. Contact OCA's Alexis Baden-Mayer alexis@organicconsumers.org [ mailto:alexis@organicconsumers.org ] for details on how you can march with OCA and Vandana Shiva.

ACTION ALERT

Deadline September 8

It's not too late to add your voice.

On August 6 (2014), the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), over the objections of 50 members [ http://www.centerforfoodsafety.org/files/24-d_letter_to_vilsack_and_mccarthy_signed_final_15431.pdf ] of Congress, and more than 500,000 citizens, scientists, farmers and health professionals, moved [ http://www.aphis.usda.gov/wps/portal/aphis/home?1dmy&urile=wcm:path:/aphis_content_library/sa_newsroom/sa_news/sa_by_date/sa_2014/sa_08/ct_brs_eis ] one step closer to approving Dow's new Enlist-brand soy and corn crops.

The crops are engineered to withstand massive doses of Enlist Duo herbicide, concocted from a combination of 2,4-D (used to make Agent Orange [ http://www.publichealth.va.gov/exposures/agentorange/ ]) and glyphosate [ http://www.organicconsumers.org/articles/article_29790.cfm ], the key ingredient in Monsanto's Roundup.

The USDA has admitted http://www.aphis.usda.gov/brs/aphisdocs/24d_deis.pdf that approval of Dow's new crops will cause the use of 2,4-D to skyrocket from 26 million pounds to 176 million pounds. Scientists predict [ http://www.enveurope.com/content/24/1/24 ] worse.

Dow's 2,4-D is already the seventh largest [ http://www.centerforfoodsafety.org/files/fsr_24-d.pdf ] source of dioxins [ http://www.who.int/mediacentre/factsheets/fs225/en/ ] in the U.S. It's been linked to a host of ills, including birth defects, infertility, allergies, Parkinson's disease, endocrine disruption and cancer.

It's unconscionable that the USDA would approve these crops. Yet the agency is less than 12 days away from doing just that. Unless we stop it.

Deadline September 8: Tell the USDA to reject Dow's 'Agent Orange' crops! [ http://salsa3.salsalabs.com/o/50865/p/dia/action3/common/public/?action_KEY=14698 ]

ORGANICE RETAIL AND CONSUMER ALLIANCE

Consumer Power

"It behooves us to continue to look at other ways that we can effect change so that it is in the manufacturers' best financial interest to eliminate GMOs. In fact, it needs to be a great enough reward to counter-balance Monsanto's efforts to the contrary." - Art Ames, general manager, Berkshire Co-Op, Great Barrington, Mass.

Sometimes we forget how many tools we have in the toolbox.

Signing petitions, writing letters to the editor, passing legislation, getting out the vote, boycotting GMO-contaminated products, educating the general public, organizing marches and protests and just generally causing a ruckus. These are all important tools to build a movement, create change and rid the world of Monsanto's GMOs and toxic chemicals.

But let's not forget the power we have as consumers to influence the purchasing decisions of our local retail stores.

Where do you start? By asking.

What happens when the owner or manager of your favorite store says there aren't enough manufacturers or suppliers offering non-GMO alternatives? You ask your store to put more pressure on the manufacturers. Because as Art Ames says (above quote), change will come when it's in the best financial interest of the manufacturers to make the change.

How do you respond when your store owner or manager says it's a great idea, but just too hard?

You hand them this leaflet [ http://organicconsumers.org/documents/orca-toolkit-leaflet.pdf ] that directs them to an online toolkit [ http://oca-orca.org/grocers-toolkit ] that outlines successful strategies other retailers have used to create GMO labeling policies and work directly with manufacturers to supply more non-GMO products. You can do it!
